/Winter Wardrobe Inspiration
Something a little different this week, as lots of my clients have been saying that they’re struggling with their Winter wardrobe. So I’ve put together a collection of my favourite looks that I will be using as inspiration over the next few weeks. I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling excited about trying out some of these super stylish looks.
The Maxi Coat
A lot of the looks I chose included a maxi (or at least a midaxi) coat and therefore have added a selection of a few that are out there now, some of which are on my wishlist for sure! In theory, a longline coat is better for those who are tall or at least not petite (5’3”) however we’re here to understand the rules before bending them! At first I worried that my maxi coat did ‘drown’ me but it made such a statement, I decided to go with it and I love it. If you are petite, just make sure that you’re aware of this and make the decision about whether you want to make a bold statement or play it safe.
I love this first outfit and I do have a fabulous yellow coat that I don’t wear enough. In all of this inspiration, it’s not about looking for new things to buy, it’s about finding inspiration to help you make the most of what you already own.
Another really simple look and I would probably replace the top and coat for a colour. This idea of tonal dressing and using a similar colour for your top and coat is super chic.
Another tonal look from H&M and this suit is on my wish list. I love the styling here too - perfect for a party but pieces that can be worn again and again.
I’m really loving the idea of Winter whites and love this long blue coat. It’s a cool-toned blue but it does remind me of a warm-toned blue coat I have. I think the length of the coat is what makes this look work, I might try the yellow coat I have with this.
This is the infamous Ganni jumper in a great shade of yellow! I have a similar jumper (although it’s not Ganni) from a local boutique and I love it styled with white.
I’ve finally succumbed to a pair of pleather trousers - I have yet to wear them but as the weather gets colder, they are a great warm option. And the green here is my favourite dark Winter colour.
I’d replace the sandals for boots, what a strange choice of footwear!!
I love everything about this look, except the black jumper. I’d probably go for a shade of the khaki green. This has made me want to look for more maxi coats…
Another tonal white look, there’s a definite theme going on here. I know that all neutrals don’t always feel right for me, so I might substitute for another coloured neutral in my palette like a rust or olive green (which are neutrals and colour at the same time).
More simple but brilliant styling, I’d personally replace the grey jumper for a better colour for my skintone - even though I’m very drawn to a grey jumper, I have to hold myself back from getting one as I know it’s not a good colour for me to wear near my face.
And finally another tonal look with a pop of leopard print in the boot. This is possibly the most practical look of them all too - flat boots, warm jumper and coat. I mean, who thinks of wearing a beanie with sandals?
Ok that’s it for this the inspiration for week! I hope that you found this inspiring - and if not, head to Pinterest and look for some more inspiration! If you think that a maxi coat could work for you, take a look at some of the options below.
